The challenge was monumental yet clear: How do we address the critical issue of healthcare equity for people of color?
A Vision for Change
In collaboration with Dr. Sidney Nelson and One World Healthcare, we embarked on a mission to tackle a pressing issue: healthcare equity for people of color. This led to the creation of BLKMD, a groundbreaking platform designed to connect individuals with healthcare professionals who share their cultural background and understand their unique needs.
A Simple Yet Profound Goal
We’re not just providing a service; we’re building bridges of empathy and understanding in the healthcare sector. BLKMD’s web and app database is a carefully curated list of black medical professionals, offering a user-friendly way to search, review, and schedule appointments. Our Phase One launch in the DC Metro area is just the start, with plans to expand and enrich our database.
Behind the Scenes
As the creative director, my role was to weave strategy, branding, and media into a narrative that resonates with our audience. From visual design to film, every element of BLKMD was crafted to tell a story of empowerment and inclusivity. BLKMD is evolving into a comprehensive resource with health resources, a media platform, and an upcoming podcast. Each facet of BLKMD aims to educate and empower, elevating the conversation around healthcare equity.
Every step we take is a stride towards a future where healthcare equity is a reality for all.
